I have used many mediums in this section that include oil and acrylic paints, oil pigment sticks, collage, inks, cold-wax and various resins, hot wax, encaustic mediums to name just a few. Layer upon layer I have created a history that is unique to each artwork.
I find abstract art is a truely creative process that enables me to really extend and grow using the knowledge that I have gained over many years. Colour, tone, texture, design and various processes and techniques are all part of creating these abstract artworks.

MY HEAR GROWS FAWN'DER The encaustic process involves applying a fired torch to fuse together the pigmented molten beeswax and resin to the skull to create this abstract artwork. The Hotel boasts that it has the ‘worst view in the world’ as it is located beside the 700klm wall that divides Israel from Palestine. The Hotel was full provocative Banksy artworks. 089 ISRAEL - STREETS OF JERUSALEM I took this photograph in old Jerusalem city. The contrast between the old and the new worlds ( note the blue plastic shopping bag) I have embedded hessian into this mixed media piece and textured it with a dry brush technique to represent sack cloth & ashes. I wanted to capture the feeling of the contrast between the different layers and the complexity of the contemporary and historical world of old Jerusalem. 088 PALESTINE – THE WALL I created this artwork after travelling in Palestine in 2019. I photographed the Banksy artwork on the wall in Bethlehem. The Collage of faces represent the Palestinian people and the division between the two states which are divided by the wall. I used a process of dissolving ink with citra solve with the collage building up the layers with wax and then embedding the photographic transfer in Encaustic wax Mixed Media-Encaustic 200mmx250mm Framed SOLD
098 RETREAT - ROUND Retreat represents a time in my journey during the covid lock downs that I retreated to my studio – In this period I decided that I would put my fine art projects to one side for now and just let my creativity flow. I set up several trestle tables and stations with different mediums. I was retreating but the whole process was liberating. 101 - TRIPTYCH STORY I worked layer upon layer, collage papers, acrylic, oil, and hot beeswax with resin ( encaustic medium) Once I had created the textured finish,I applied Indian Ink over the surface and wiped it away with another medium to that it would highlight the textural finish of the surface.
