The Story Behind the Painting

The Kaimanawa Ranges present a spectacular vista, familiar to many who travel south through Tongariro National Park in New Zealand’s Central Plateau.

This landscape has long been a visual highlight of the journey—rolling golden tussock stretching across expansive terrain, framed by distant ranges and ever-changing light.

This artwork was commissioned for a commercial premises, where different sections of the building are themed as “wings.”

Golden Tussock, Kaimanawa Ranges represents the Kaimanawa Wing, capturing the unique character and atmosphere of this iconic region.
